SHILLONG Aug 30: A heart-warming celebration of Raksha Bandhan unfolded at Raj Bhavan here as 10 children and two mothers from SOS Children’s Village Shillong met Governor Phagu Chauhan on Wednesday. This special occasion was marked by the tying of Rakhis, symbolising bonds of love, protection, and unity.
In a heartening departure from tradition, this year’s celebration expanded its horizons as the children from SOS Children’s village extended their affection and respect to Governor Chauhan.
The Governor graciously accepted the Rakhis, underlining his commitment to the people.
On the sidelines, BK Neelam, In-charge of Brahmakumaris, Shillong Centre, along with other members of the organisation, paid a visit to the Governor at Raj Bhavan. During this special occasion, Neelam also tied a Rakhi on the Governor’s wrist.
