Primary school teachers to join ‘Bharat Yatra’

SHILLONG, Aug 31: The All Meghalaya Primary School Teachers Association (AMPSTA) will join hands with the All India Primary Teachers Federation (AIPTF) in the Bharat Yatra scheduled for September 4.
The procession will start from the Community Hall at Golf Links and culminate at the same place after going to different areas.
The teachers are demanding restoration of Statutory Old Pension Scheme, regularisation of the services of lower primary school teachers, payment of the fourth installment of 25% Revised Pay of deficit teachers, regular monthly salary to the deficit school teachers and quality education.
All government and deficit lower primary school teachers have been requested to join the procession.
The association also said that mass casual leave be taken by all of the teachers.
