M’laya bamboo and cane craft products to be exhibited in Delhi
SHILLONG, Sep 5: Delhi is set to witness the intrinsic cane and bamboo craft products from Meghalaya on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi. A ‘Crafts Bazaar’ (exhibition-cum-sale) is being set up in Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, from September 8–10. A statement said that the crafts bazaar will showcase handicraft products from different parts of the country, with a special focus on One District, One Product (ODOP), GI-tagged items, and products crafted by women and tribal artisans. Meghalaya is rich in bamboo and cane resources and boasts of a history of using these materials for construction and daily items. Around 30 states and UTs, as well as central agencies like Khadi Village & Industries Commission, TRIFED, and Saras Ajeevika, will be participating in the Crafts Bazaar.

 

Star cement donates sports kit
JOWAI, SEP 5: Star cement donated the sports kit to the Dorbar Shnong of Mukhla Mission as an act of appreciation towards the village for providing assistance in transporting equipment belonging to the company. The equipments were finally transported through Mukhla village. The company also distributed dustbins and donated cash to the church of Mukhla Mission.
