Lady Keane College celebrates its graduates

SHILLONG, Sep 6: The sun shone its brightest on Wednesday, almost in a way to acknowledge the bright graduates who will be out in the world, making their mark.
Lady Keane College, the oldest women’s degree college of not only Meghalaya but also Northeast, celebrated its graduates here on Wednesday, a day after the nation celebrated the teachers who make the students what they are.
The ceremony had in attendance Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma, Vice-Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University Prof TK Bamon, former Principal of Lady Keane College Dr Chrysanthemum Massar, Principal of Lady Keane College Dr DKB Mukhim among others.
The event began with the students beginning with a Khasi song to the tunes of traditional instruments.
Rakkam Sangma, speaking on the occasion, congratulated the students while encouraging them to go out in the world and face it head on. He said, “You are the face of the community, state and country and it is important for one to finish well in their career, and I believe all of you graduating today have finished well in their career. It is just the beginning of another chapter of your life.”
The minister along with other diginitaries present on the desk was felicitated. Further, they distributed cash prize and mementos to the rank holders of various departments.
