Shillong, Sept 14: The delegation of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) led by its Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang met the KHADC CEM, Pyniaid Sing Syiem in the presence of other Executive Members here on Thursday.
While speaking to reporters, KHADC CEM informed that they had discussed the need to maintain a healthy relationship between the councils, especially relating to the preservation of culture and practices of the two communities.
He also informed that they also discussed prevailing tension in the border villages along the inter-State boundary with Assam.
Syiem informed that they had impressed upon the KAAC that the local Khasi-Pnar population residing along the border villages should not be harassed whether in their agricultural and trading activities.
The KHADC expressed their concern over the recent incidents which had happened in Khanduli and other areas.
The KAAC CEM did not speak much to the media and only said that they were here to promote friendship between the two councils.
