Shillong, September 18: AAP MP Sanjay Singh speculated on Monday that with the conclusion of the central government’s five-year term, there could be an announcement regarding the general election during the special session of Parliament.
As per IANS, he suggested that the planned photography session involving all MPs from both Houses might indicate that their attendance may no longer be required, given the completion of their five-year term, and an election announcement could follow.
While speaking to the media outside the House, he stated, “We have been informed that photographs of all MPs from both Houses will be taken. It appears that the time for the next election may have come, and the members could be informed that their attendance is no longer required. We have completed five years, and an announcement of the next election may be on the horizon.”
The special session is scheduled to take place in the current Parliament House on Monday, but starting from September 19, the session will resume in the new building.
