By Our Reporter SHILLONG, Sep 19: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday gave a clean chit to the department following complaints of nails being found inside antibiotic capsules prescribed by doctors at Pomlum PHC. Reacting to a query, Lyngdoh said the department conducted an inquiry into the matter and it has been resolved. “It has been established that the needle was bigger than the capsule” she said. She also said that the department conducted random tests of the capsule from different batches and nothing untoward was found. A woman had alleged that she found nails inside antibiotic capsules (amoxicillin) prescribed by doctors at Pomlum primary health centre for her 12-year-old daughter prompting the authorities to launch a probe into the matter.
