SHILLONG, Sep 20: Senior politician and TMC MLA Mukul Sangma on Wednesday accused the state government of not sharing the information which is being sought for by the opposition bench in the Assembly.
Referring to an instance, he said that in one of the unstarred questions, the PHE Minister was asked about the implementation of households being connected with tap water under JJM.
According to Sangma, the minister, in his reply, about West Jaintia Hills said the scheme is being implemented in many villages of the district, but when asked about the names of the villages and the schemes being implemented, the reply to the query was that the government is collecting the information.
Claiming that the government is trying to hold the information, Sangma said that there was a similar response from the government when asked about the implementation of the scheme in West Garo Hills.
“They have sanctioned the projects in the villages but how come they don’t know the name of the villages,” Sangma said, while adding that sharing the information with the Opposition bench would have only helped the minister take corrective measures, wherever needed.
