CRPF DG visits city

SHILLONG, Sep 21: The Director General of CRPF, Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen, visited Shillong as part of his official tour on Wednesday and Thursday. During the visit, the CRPF DG called on the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, and apprised the CM about the role played by CRPF in bringing peace in the region.
He also thanked the CM for providing land to CRPF for establishment of the Headquarter.
The CM expressed gratitude to the CRPF through the DG while also congratulating all the officers and men on his behalf.
During his time in the state, Thaosen also visited the IG’s Office, North-Eastern Sector, CRPF, and 67 Battalion CRPF in Shillong and interacted with the personnel.
He exhorted the troops to work hard to maintain peace in the North East. He visited the CRPF hospital and enquired about the health facilities. The DG also asked the men to maintain cordial relationship with other organisation and the general public.
A Sainik Sammelan was also conducted wherein the DG interacted personally with the troops to understand their problems and further directed to concerned officials for solutions.
He also met the Chief Secretory of Meghalaya, Director General of Assam Rifles, DGP of Meghalaya, and Inspector General of BSF Meghalaya Frontier, and discussed various internal security issues with them. During his visit, ADG CRPF NE Zone, Binod Kumar Singh, and
IG CRPF NE Sector, Anurag Agarwal, accompanied the CRPF DG.
