Shillong, September 24: Delhi Police have taken into custody a 29-year-old man, his brother (32), and their associate (23) on charges of orchestrating a fake shooting incident to frame their rival.

As per IANS, the authorities also confiscated a country-made pistol from the possession of the suspects, identified as Wasem and his brother Fahim, along with their associate Sahil.

The incident in question was reported in the Kardampuri area and subsequently registered at the Jyoti Nagar police station in northeast Delhi. The victim, who was taken to GTB Hospital by his brother, did not initially provide a statement to the police. As a result, a case was filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.

During the investigation, the police detained an individual named Bhura, who had been recently released from jail. Further inquiry revealed that the trio, Wasem, Fahim, and Sahil, intended to falsely implicate Bhura in a case to settle a score. They conspired and carefully chose a location outside the range of CCTV cameras.

On the evening of the incident, they intercepted Bhura on the street. Sahil restrained him from behind while Fahim handed a homemade pistol to Wasem, who proceeded to shoot himself in the left leg. After the staged shooting, Bhura managed to break free from Sahil’s grip and escape. The trio then rushed the injured Wasem to GTB Hospital and reported the incident via PCR call.

The police recovered the country-made pistol, loaded with a single empty cartridge, from Fahim’s possession, and subsequently, all three suspects were apprehended.
