Blood donors feted in Jowai

JOWAI, Oct 2: As part of the commemoration of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, the Jowai Civil Hospital Blood Bank felicitated voluntary blood donors at the Conference Room of the Centre. The programme was organised by Blood Centre Jowai Civil Hospital in collaboration with State Blood Transfusion Council and Meghalaya Aids Control Society.
The In-charge of Jowai Blood Bank, Dr P Shylla, in her introductory speech expressed gratitude to the blood donors. She also stressed on the importance of blood donation.
Jowai Daloi Puramon Kynjing spoke about timely access to blood and its importance.
Later, the youths from the Presbyterian Church and Sookpoh Khadar Wyrnai donated blood.
