Intl Day of Older Persons observed in Pynursla

Shillong, Oct 5: The District Social Welfare Officer, East Khasi Hills observed International Day of Older Persons 2023 at a function held at Neng Gate Community Hall, Pynursla, on Wednesday.
The theme for the celebration is “Fulfilling the Promises of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for Older Persons: Across Generations.”
Lectures on ‘Matters related with health issues concerning the senior citizens’ and ‘Maintenance & Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007’, were imparted, a free medical and health check up camp for senior citizens was also conducted and gifts were distribution to all senior citizens who attended the programme.
Sub-Divisional Officer, Pynursla Civil Sub Division, Pynursla E Warjri was the chief guest and present at the function were other dignitaries and officials from the health department of the district.
