NONGSTOIN, Oct 5: The FKJGP Rambrai circle, expressed its concern about the deplorable state of roads from Lad Mawrang-Rambrai market upto Rambrai Nongbah, for which funds have been allotted by the state government but no work has started so far.
The FKJGP had earlier filed an RTI and learnt that the government had already sanctioned Rs 2,24,95,200 for metalling and blacktopping of the 2.50 km road.
However, even after the work being allotted to ten local contractors in April 2023, no work has commenced so far, the FKJGP said.
After receiving numerous complaints from the public about the poor condition of the road, the FKJGP met with the executive engineer PWD Road Nongstoin Division to pressure him to take action on the matter.
Meanwhile, the engineer has assured that when the rainy season is over, he will immediately instruct the contractors to start the work, informed the FKJGP.
