Shillong, October 8: The Israel Defense Forces initiated a significant mobilization of forces on Saturday night, summoning reservists and preparing for war in the wake of a devastating terrorist attack.

As per IANS, the assault, carried out by Hamas, targeted southern Israeli communities, resulting in hundreds of casualties, over 1,500 injuries, and numerous abductions.

Hamas gunmen launched a widespread attack, reaching as far as 15 miles from the Gaza border, striking approximately 22 locations. Israeli forces scrambled to respond, with ongoing gun battles and hostage situations in some areas. Tragically, the death toll continued to rise, reaching 300, including civilians in their homes and streets, as well as attendees at a large outdoor event targeted by terrorists.

Hospitals were inundated with the injured, with 1,590 reported cases, including 300 in critical condition. Israeli security forces faced challenges in clearing entrenched terrorist cells within devastated communities, while civilians remained in hiding, fearing further attacks.

Simultaneously, social media was flooded with images and videos depicting the chaos and suffering in these towns, along with the uncertainty of those taken hostage. The IDF confirmed the abduction of soldiers and civilians but did not specify the number.

Amidst the turmoil, rocket attacks continued to strike southern and central Israel, prompting evacuations to shelters. Some rockets breached the Iron Dome Defense system, causing injuries.

The nation was shocked and outraged by the chaos and the failure to gain control of the situation, leading to questions about intelligence, deployment, and policy failures. Israel also initiated a military response, with ongoing strikes on terror targets in Gaza, resulting in casualties on both sides.

The IDF announced the deployment of four divisions of reservists to the Gaza border, joining the already stationed 35 battalions in preparation for what was promised to be an unprecedented military response.
