EAC chief remembers martyrs on 91st anniversary of IAF

SHILLONG, Oct 8: Commemorating the 91st anniversary of Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command (EAC), Air Marshal SP Dharkar paid tributes at the War Memorial at Head Quarters EAC here remembering all the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
He also extended his greetings and best wishes to all EAC personnel and their families and exhorted them to continue working towards taking the IAF and the nation to greater heights and glory.
The IAF celebrated its 91st anniversary on Sunday across the country, and in the run up to the Air Force Day, all units of EAC commemorated the same with various formal and social events.
The IAF, which made its humble beginning on October 8, 1932, with six Indian Hawai Sepoys, is now known to be one of the mightiest air forces across the globe.
The IAF personnel, on the occasion of Air Force Day, re-iterated their pledge to serve the nation with patriotism and professionalism following all tenets of military ethos.
