SHILLONG, Oct 9: The Fashion Society, Shillong is set to host Miss Shillong 2023 and the first Ms Supermom Beauty Pageant for single mothers in a bid to portray single moms not as strugglers but women who try to balance between work and family and take life by the horns and face its storms.
The aspirants were selected through an audition about two months ago and then were put under rigorous training in speech, catwalk and personality development, and were professionally groomed by 100 Fold Academy.
The event is scheduled to have a traditional sequence followed by a dance choreographed by Ribha War Lyngkhoi and the grand finale choreographed by Chris Kurbah and Naphisa Pala.
The winners of Miss Shillong 2023 will take home designer crowns, cash prizes of Rs One Lakh, Seventy five thousand and fifty thousand respectively while the winner of Ms. Supermom will walk away with designer crown, fifty thousand, thirty thousand and twenty thousand respectively.
The winner of the sub-titles namely Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Skin, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Catwalk winners will carry a cash award of Rs. 5,000 each.
Fashion Society Shillong in it’s first is also hosting the Ms Supermom Beauty Pageant, a contest for single mothers. Understanding the immense pressure faced by single mothers, this is a good platform to look at.
This forum also empowers them to actually retrieve their lost dream and aspirations and began to live a new life again.
The Society will also showcasing the talent of Liza Lyngdoh, the guitar maestro who hailed originally from Mawkyrwat and presently teaching music at Bangalore.
