ManUtd show interest in midfielder Joao Neves
Manchester United want to sign 19-year-old Benfica midfielder Joao Neves with club scouts keeping an eye on the Portuguese midfielder. Neves, has been one of Benfica’s stand out performers this season and is a regular starter for boss Roger Schmidt’s reigning champs.The scout attended Benfica’s match against Estoril last week, where Neves started his eighth game in a row. And his blockbuster displays have caught the eye of national boss Roberto Martinez who marked Neves as special.
Ronaldo wants to renew contract at Al-Nassr
Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 38, has told Al-Nassr management that he wants to renew his contract until 2027 with the Saudi Pro League club. Ronaldo moved to Saudi Arabia in December 2022, but has taken to life well in the Middle East registering 25 goals and eight assists in 30 games. The 38-year-old has been made captain of Al Nassr, with his side currently sitting third in the league behind Al Taawoun and Neymar’s Al Hilal. The striker wishes to extend his stay until 2027.
Rooney to join Birmingham City as manager
Former England striker Wayne Rooney has agreed a deal to take over as Birmingham City manager on a salary which is three times more than what John Eustace was on before he was sacked. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest English footballers of all time. He was named PFA Player of the Year in 2010, and was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2021. He retired from playing in 2021, and took up his first managerial role with Derby County.
