It is said that in Khanduli and Psiar or Block 1, no affirmative status from the government has been initiated and that it was meant to be Psiar and Khanduli sector as first preference.
The forum and Elaka Labang-Nongphyllut and Pangam-Raliang were however not in tandem with the government’s suggestion. Block I and Block II must come within the parameter of Meghalaya, they asserted.
At the meeting between the forum and other stakeholders, resource persons such as retired professor NEHU, Dr P Passah, president of Jaintia Dorbar, B Sari, president of Synjuk Waheh Chnong Ri Lum Jaintia, A Lipon, besides, the spokesperson of the forum, T Passah, were also present.
“It is decided that the Labang-Nongohyllut land should not be wasted even a hairpin stretch to Assam and if the result brings its reverse they will not be hesitated to even resort to hatchets and machetes sharpening,” Sungoh said.
Passah restated that the main focus is to make an assertive that Block I and II should fall within Meghalaya. The resolution also opposed the government’s move to consider only Psiar and Khanduli for preliminary talks.
