NONGSTOIN, Oct 17: The absence of doctors at Shallang PHC for over two months has prompted the KSU, Hynnengbrei unit to seek the intervention of District Medical and Health Officer of West Khasi Hills, Dr. S A Lyngdoh into the matter.
The union led by its president Anslem Ryntong met with the medical officer and told her that a spot inspection of the PHC by the KSU found out that, besides the absence of doctors, the centre is also lacking in various healthcare facilities, putting patients at risk while taking emergency medical treatment at the hospital.
The union has demanded the state government, through the health department
to take immediate action on the matter and also urged MLA Methodios Dkhar to intervene into the matter for the good of the people of Shallang Block under Mawshynrut.
