Rynghep, Myrkhan are now protected archaeological sites

SHILLONG, Oct 25: The state government has notified two archeological sites in the East Khasi Hills as ‘protected sites’ owing to their historical and cultural significance.
Myrkhan wherein numerous Neolithic tools were discovered and Nongskeh, Rynghep wherein several ancient monoliths are located are the sites that are declared preliminary protected by the State’s Art and Culture Department; however any objections to the same within thirty day’s of the issuance of the notification will be considered by the government.
