Meritorious students feted

JOWAI, Oct 29: Niamtre students who achieved a minimum of 80% marks in the last SSLC and HSSLC examinations were on Saturday felicitated by the Women’s Welfare Organisation, Seinraij Jowai.
Altogether 11 students from SSLC and three from HSSLC, besides two persons in the PhD category were feted.
Chief Engineer, PHE, Bandarisha Lyndem, was the chief guest, and Deputy Secretary to the Meghalaya government, Antonio Lakiang, was the co-chief guest.
Others who were present include president of Seinraij Jowai, Hercules Toi, besides youths and elders of Seinraij Jowai.
Among the elites, two were Mayanka Pde (94.3%) of Government Public School in ICSE examination and Wansame Pakyntein (90.21%) of Chaitanya Junior Kala Sale Pragathi Nagar, Hyderabad.
The doctorate awards were conferred upon Dr Lincoln Dkhar in Doctorate of Chilliangraij Jowai, and Dr Toba Lamare of Ummulong, West Jaintia Hills.
