Police inspector playing cricket in J&K shot
by terrorists
SRINAGAR, Oct 29: A Jammu and Kashmir Police officer was shot and critically wounded by terrorists in downtown Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani was playing cricket with local boys at the Eidgah ground when he was shot by terrorists, the officials said.The injured officer was rushed to a hospital.Doctors were attending to him and his condition was stated to be critical, they said.In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Kashmir Zone Police stated, “Terrorists fired upon & injured Inspector Masroor Ahmad near Eidgah, Srinagar. He was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation reveals that a pistol was used in this terror crime. Area cordoned off, case registered.” (PTI)

 

‘Bride’ gives ‘triple talaq’ within 12 hours of marriage
PATNA, Oct 29: In an unusual turn of events, a newly-married woman gave ‘triple talaq’ to her husband within 12 hours of their marriage in Patna’s Phulwari Sharif area on Sunday.The dispute arose between the bride and the groom’s side over food during the marriage ceremony. The people from the groom’s side complained about the food that was being served to them during the marriage, which led to a quarrel between the two sides.Soon the groom, Gulam Nabi, got involved in a verbal altercation with the brother of the bride, who allegedly hit Nabi.The parents from both sides tried to intervene, but failed as the situation went out of control. The bride’s finally decided to break the marriage following which the woman reportedly gave ‘triple talaq’ to the man on Sunday morning. (IANS)
