Shillong, Oct 31: The vibrant and highly anticipated NEHU Inter-College Football (Women) Tournament 2023 kicked off with a bang at the SAI-STC, NEHU Permanent Campus in Shillong on the 30th of October. Organized by the Sports Department of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, this year’s tournament has brought together women’s football teams from various colleges, promising an exciting week of athletic competition.
In the first fixture of the day, Shillong College went head-to-head with St. Edmund’s College. The Shillong College team displayed exceptional prowess and secured a convincing victory, with a final score of 3-1. Their tactical gameplay and formidable teamwork paved the way for their triumph, and the crowd was treated to an exhilarating display of football skills.
Sngap Syiem College, Mawkyrwat, also made a significant statement by delivering an awe-inspiring performance against Nabon Synod College, Shillong. The Mawkyrwat team displayed their dominance with an impressive 5-0 win, leaving their opponents in awe of their sheer skill and determination on the field.
In the third match of the day, Lady Keane College clashed with St. Anthony’s College in a closely contested battle.
The final match of the day saw NEHU Shillong going head-to-head with Nongstoin College shared spoils.
