Shillong, November 17: E-commerce giant Amazon, known for its diverse ventures, is set to enter the online car sales arena.

As per IANS, teaming up with Hyundai, the company plans to commence vehicle sales on its US online store in the second half of 2024. This move marks a significant expansion beyond Amazon’s current offerings, which include car accessories.

The announcement was made during the ‘2023 LA Auto Show,’ unveiling plans for Hyundai vehicles initially, with other brands joining later in the year. While Amazon already operates an “Amazon Vehicle Showrooms” site, this development represents a major step into selling actual vehicles.

The partnership aims to leverage Amazon’s extensive reach and marketing prowess to enhance the awareness and convenience of the car-buying experience for customers. Mike Sullivan, president and owner of LA-area dealerships, expressed enthusiasm, emphasizing the collaboration with one of the world’s leading digital retailers.

Additionally, Hyundai reveals plans to utilize Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its preferred cloud provider and integrate the Alexa voice assistant into its future vehicles.
