JOWAI, Nov 21: Owing to the persistent deferment of JHADC staff salary for over nine months starting February, the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council Staff Association (JHADCSA) on Monday began their three-day sit-in, which was cancelled after a written communication from the JHADC Executive Committee conveyed to them that the pending dues will be cleared within November when the package for the Council is released.
JHADCSA president Johnson Pohrmen, speaking through the phone, rued the hardships and financial crisis borne by the JHADC staff due to the government’s reluctance.
He, however, added that a similar agitation will be resorted to by the end of November, if the pending salary is not cleared.
