Shillong, Nov 21: Sohiong SC got the better of Marbisu SC 3-2 in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2023 at Third Ground, Polo, here on Tuesday.
The other game was a 1-1 draw in Group B between Imson SC and Smit SC.
Arnest Kharpuli (9′) seized the lead for Marbisu but Keystar Malngiang was indeed key to Sohiong getting back in the game as he provided the equaliser in the 16th minute.
Arbun Sing Warjri (29′) then gave Sohiong the lead for the first time and the team held on to it until Paul Nongdhar (75′) equalised for Marbisu. Just when it looked like points would have to be shared, Sharningstar Jana scored the winner in the fifth minute of added time, giving Sohiong 3 points.
Later, Smit went ahead thanks to Kalvest Pathaw (8′) but Imson drew level with a 17th minute goal by Kitboklang Rynjah and 1-1 is how it stayed until the final whistle.
