M’laya Roll Ball body to host Roll Ball Federation Cup

Shillong, Nov 24: In a strategic move, the Meghalaya Roll Ball Association recently engaged in discussions with the Honorable Chief Minister, Shri. Conrad K Sangma, to explore the possibility of hosting the prestigious Roll Ball Federation Cup 2023-2024 in Meghalaya.
During the meeting, the association sought the Chief Minister’s endorsement and support for organizing this significant event, set to witness the participation of eight elite teams from various corners of the country.
Roll Ball, a dynamic team sport amalgamating elements of basketball, handball, and roller skating, takes place on a hard court with a specially designed ball. The primary objective is to score goals by propelling the ball through the opposing team’s goalposts. Originating in India in 2001, Roll Ball has garnered international recognition, played in over 20 countries worldwide, and holds a special place in India as a national sport.
Known for its demanding physicality, Roll Ball mandates a high level of fitness, agility, and coordination from players. The game involves swift skating, precise dribbling, accurate passing, and powerful, precise shooting. Despite its relative newness, Roll Ball has rapidly gained a passionate following due to its captivating blend of excitement, speed, and skill.As the sport continues to gain momentum globally, the anticipated Roll Ball Federation Cup promises to be a showcase of the game’s exhilarating facets. The meeting between the Meghalaya Roll Ball Association and the Chief Minister signifies a pivotal step towards bringing this thrilling sporting spectacle to the vibrant state.
