Jowai, Nov 28: Excitement unfolded during the 3rd Sniawbhalang Dhar Football Tournament 2023, hosted by the West Jaiñtia District Sports Association (WJDSA) in Jowai at the Wahiajer Stadium in the picturesque West Jaiñtia Hills District.
In a thrilling encounter, Iongshiwiat claimed a decisive 2-0 victory over Morathud, courtesy of goals netted by Kynsaibor Dkhar in the 14th minute and Stephan Dhar in the 57th minute.
Bamkamar also etched a narrow 2-1 triumph against Modop, with Kyrshan Nongrum striking early in the 11th minute and Khadius Nongrum securing the winning goal in the 71st minute. Modop responded with a solitary goal from Emlang Shadap in the 64th minute.
The Lapangap squad celebrated a 2-1 victory against Lumlakhiat, fueled by goals from Heyboymi Myrphet in the 7th minute and Rest Ksoo in the 50th minute. Sanki Dhar contributed Lumlakhiat’s goal in the 25th minute.
In another gripping match, Khanduli emerged triumphant with a 1-0 win over Saitsama, as Deepsin Tokbi found the net in the 7th minute.
Looking forward, the tournament’s fervor continues today, featuring the clash between Mynsgat and Thadmusem at 12:00 PM, the showdown between Khonsaro and Umplu Umshangiar at 2:00 PM, and the 12th match between Nongnulieh Sehlama and Mookhnang at 4:00 PM.
