7 Wasa emerge champions title in super division soccer

Jowai, Dec 16: The Super Division Football Tournament 2023 known as U Kiang Nangbah Memorial Trophy 2023 organised by West Jaintia District Sports Association at Kiang Nangbah Stadium, Dongmihsngi Jowai came to an end today where 7 Wasa FC clinched the champions title defeating Ladthadlaboh FC by 2-1 goals.
During the first half of the play the battle was so fierce that neither were able to vibrate the goal posts or make a difference in the scoreboard and thus ended a scoreless 45 minute play duration.
All of a sudden in the second half 7 Wasa FC scored abrupt two goals  through Civility Khongmalai at the 58th minute (Penalty) and followed by a precise close range shot  by Pynshai Lathong an the 60th minute. .
Sanki Langstang  of Ladthadlaboh FC consolidated a late comeback at the 86th minute that delayed the spectators from leaving their seat before the 90th minute .
Jowai MLA Wailad Shylla distributed prizes in the presence of Nominated MDC O. Lamin, DSO K.Passah  and WJDSA members. 7 Wasa bagged Rs 50,000 as champions while the runner up team received cash prize of Rs 30,000. .
‘Man of the Match’ award went to Dashngain Sukhlain and Best goalkeeper award to Pynshngainlang Tyngkra of 7 Wasa. T Banteilang  of Shylla Ladthadlaboh  who scored 7 goals  in all was adjudged the best scorer. ‘Payer of the Tournament’ went to Risanlang I Dkhar of  7Wasa FC.
