Shillong, Dec 15: The two-day first aid training programme for local taxi drivers from Laban and Lumparing conducted by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) concluded here on Friday.
This is the first time that IRCS has conducted such training for cabbies which is much-needed.
While speaking to reporters, IRCS vice chairman (E), Amilia Swer said that they had wanted to conduct the training programme for taxi drivers for a very long time.
According to her, this kind of training is important since the drivers should be able to respond to help passengers in case of any kind of disaster, accident, or health emergency.
