DoNER Ministry sanctions 2 road projects in state

New Delhi, Dec 19: The Centre has sanctioned two road projects for Meghalaya – Shillong City to Umroi Airport and Agia-Medhipara-Phulbari-Tura during 2022-23 for a total outlay of Rs 87.65 crore, under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).
The scheme has been bifurcated into two components — NESIDS (Roads) and NESIDS OTRI (other than road infrastructure).
Under NESIDS (OTRI), the DoNER Ministry has sanctioned a project namely bulk water supply to adjoining rural villages of Tura with an approved amount of Rs 97.77 crore during FY 2023-24. The information was provided by the Minister of State for DoNER, BL Verma in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
