STF team nabs 3 drug peddlers in Guwahati

Guwahati, Dec 20: The Special Task Force of Assam Police on Wednesday conducted a raid and apprehended three drug peddlers, including a woman, from Paltan Bazar here.

Official sources said that an STF team also recovered 13 vials of suspected heroin weighing 16.5 grams from the drug peddlers during the raid conducted at K.C. Sen Road, Paltan Bazar under Paltan Bazar police station.

The apprehended persons have been identified as Mahesh Naidu (33) of Maligaon, Gosala under Jalukbari police station in Kamrup Metro district; Asod Ali (24) of Mangaldoi, Ward No.2, Darrang district and presently residing at Kalapahar under Fatasil Ambari police station, Guwahati and his wife, Fatima Khatoon (18).

A scooty, bearing registration number, AS 01 FN 7341; Rs 60,000 in cash and a mobile phone were also seized during the raid by the STF team.
