SHILLONG, Dec 20: Peeved at the decision of Nongkrem MDC Lambor Malngiang to extend support to the NPP, which leads the Executive Committee (EC) in KHADC, UDP leader and former Chief Executive Member (CEM), Titosstarwell Chyne has called for the suspension of expulsion of his fellow party worker, Lambor Malngiang, for his actions.
Although the UDP is an important part of the MDA 2.0 government in the state, it wants to be considered a different entity in the district council. Hence, to play onto the same cards, Chyne said that they would write to UDP chief Metbah Lyngdoh to take action against the ‘betrayal’ of Nongkrem MDC.
Chyne added said that the action on part of the MDC from Nongkrem is an ‘act of betrayal’ since he had contested the Assembly polls on the UDP ticket.
It is an indication of him wanting to leave the party, alleged Chyne.
“We would that the party leadership to take a decision at the earliest,” he said.
It may be mentioned that Malngiang had earlier submitted his letter of support to the KHADC CEM, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, on Thursday.
It is pertinent to note here that besides the Lambor, nominated MDC Bindo Mathew Lanong has also extended his support to the NPP-led EC.
