Christmas gift for 55,000 govt employees

SHILLONG, Dec 20: The 55,000-odd government employees have double reasons to cheer as the state government has decided to enhance the dearness allowance (DA) from 36% to 39% with effect from July 1, 2023. Additionally, all the employees have been paid their salary in advance for the month of December.
A government statement said that the enhanced DA will directly benefit the government employees and provide them with additional financial support to cope with the challenges posed by inflation and the increasing cost of living.
