Jowai, Dec 22: Marking the universal Christian celebration on Christ’s birthday the Jaintia Hills Development Society (JHDS) in the company of KHUBLEI Germany organised a programme of jubilation on the advent of Christmas together with children of less privileged families.
It was held in the office of JHDS at Lumbihsyntu, Mihmyntdu West Jaintia Hills on Friday.
The JHDS and KHUBLEI Germany have stretched their lending hands by assisting the specially abled children in taking full accountability for the free schooling of 134 students from 1st to 12th Grade.
The scheduled gathering was chaired by Denis Kurkalang JHDS Coordinator in the presence of JHDS Director Fr. Manbha Pakem, office staffs and its members.
Later, Christmas Cake was distributed among the 134 children and everyone accompanying them.
At the end of the programme, a renowned artist Banker Kharkongor enthralled and cheered the day with his mellifluous voice.
