SHILLONG, Dec 24: The state BJP is preparing an RTI to hold the state government accountable for the poor execution of numerous central programmes. The results will be shared with the Centre for appropriate action.
BJP vice president and Tura MDC, Bernard Marak, said, “We are inspecting and in contact with the villagers and we are ready to file RTI.”
He said the party will file the RTI immediately after the New Year to get details of what the government has to say, the department has to say, and what the ground reality is. He disclosed that the party is inspecting and studying the implementation of various central schemes, including JJM, AAY, PMGSY, and others.
“We are going to compare it and forward the report to the Centre seeking appropriate actions,” he stated.
Marak stated that although the state government may have stated in writing that the projects in the villages have been finished, in reality this is not the case.
“In practically all central schemes, PMGSY, AAY, and individual toilets under Swachh Bharat are not implemented as per the guidelines. Therefore, we will verify it at the grassroots level and send the report to the Centre,” he said.
The NPP has dismissed the charges of BJP about lapses in the implementation of central schemes in the state as “untrue”.
“Tell me which projects have lapsed so we can take corrective measures,” Cabinet Minister Marcuise Marak had recently claimed.
