Rahul Gandhi’s yatra to touch 1 km of M’laya

SHILLONG, Jan 4: The Rahul Gandhi-led Manipur-Mumbai yatra starting from January 14 will touch only 1 km of Meghalaya in Ri-Bhoi district.
The Congress renamed the yatra as Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will travel through 15 states including Meghalaya.
Party sources said that the route of the yatra is Manipur, Nagaland, and Assam but, it will touch around 1 kilometers of Meghalaya.
Gandhi will lead the march from Imphal and end in Mumbai in March.
The yatra will cover a total distance of 6,713 kilometres across 110 districts in eastern and western India over 66 days.
It is expected to cover the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
State Congressmen meet M’laya in charge
Meanwhile, top brass of Meghalaya Congress met AICC in charge of Meghalaya, Dr A Chellakumar, in New Delhi on Thursday. During the meeting, it was decided that Chellakumar would be on a two-day visit to Meghalaya on January 8-9.
He will visit Tura on January 8, and Shillong and Nongstoin on January 9.
