SHILLONG, Jan 4: The construction of the four-lane stretch of the Shillong-Dawki road project from MES point to Upper Shillong is expected to be completed by October next year.
The physical progress of the project as of now is 1 percent.
The project was stalled for some years after the previous contractor abandoned the project.
It is said that the work on the project has started in the Upper Shillong area and the full-fledged work will start within this month.
The project is implemented by the New India Contractors – BCC (JV) at an awarded cost of Rs 166.07 crores. The new company was awarded the project in July last year.
