Shillong Lajong gear up for Kalinga Super Cup

Shillong, Jan 7: Excitement is building in the football community as Shillong Lajong prepares to make its debut in the Kalinga Super Cup 2024.
The team is set to clash with Kerala Blasters FC on January 10 at 2 p.m. in the renowned Kalinga Stadium, Odisha, marking a significant moment for Lajong in this prestigious tournament.
Placed in Group B of the Kalinga Super Cup, alongside formidable Indian Super League (ISL) teams like Kerala Blasters FC, North-East United FC, and Jamshedpur FC, Lajong is ready to face the challenge head-on. The squad is scheduled to embark on their journey to Odisha tomorrow in anticipation of this noteworthy event.
This opportunity is a crucial one for Shillong Lajong as they step onto the field against teams from a higher division. The encounter with established ISL clubs is eagerly awaited, presenting a chance for Lajong to showcase their talent and competitiveness. The team, comprised of determined players, is enthusiastic about the prospect of locking horns with these formidable opponents.
Among the participants, Shillong Lajong is one of the four I-League clubs joining the ranks of Sreenidi Deccan FC, Gokulam Kerala FC, and one of the playoff match winners between Rajasthan United FC and Inter Kashi. These four teams, alongside all twelve ISL clubs, will form a formidable 16-team tournament divided into four groups, each consisting of four teams.
