Meghalaya dominated the match, securing a resounding 328-run triumph, with Manish’s remarkable figures of 14/54 in the game, marking one of the best-ever performances by a Meghalaya bowler in history.
The contest unfolded with Meghalaya posting a modest 113 in their first innings. However, a brilliant bowling effort restricted Sikkim to 91 all out. Meghalaya then showcased their prowess by amassing 370/9 in the second innings, establishing a commanding lead of 392 runs by the end of Monday’s play.
Captain Kevin Christopher’s earlier century played a crucial role in Meghalaya’s innings, leading them to a declaration at their overnight score. Despite the sizable target of 393, Sikkim faltered as they were dismissed for a mere 64 runs in 40.5 overs.
Manish Sharma’s exceptional bowling spree saw him claim a wicket, on average, every 11 balls bowled.
Aryan Borah (1/18) and Abhishek Kumar (1/31) secured the remaining two wickets not taken by Manish.With this impressive win, Meghalaya is set to face Manipur in their upcoming fixture in Surat, Gujarat, starting from January 14.
