Youth Star triumph over Solidarity, Lawsohtun seal victory

Shillong, Jan 10: In a thrilling encounter in the Shillong Cricket League 3rd Division 2024, Youth Star CC faced Solidarity Club in a riveting clas-h that unfolded at the cricket grounds. Solidarity Club won the toss and opted to field first, setting the stage for a competitive showdown.
During the 1st innings, Youth Star CC put up a commendable total of 193/8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Mrinmoy Das and Saurab Tiwari were the standout performers, scoring 33 runs in 21 balls and 32 runs in 16 balls, respectively.
The bowlers from Solidarity Club, Subham Sharma, and Abhijit Barua, displayed skillful performances, with Sharma taking 2 wickets by conceding 25 runs in his 4 overs, and Barua securing 2 wickets while giving away 26 runs in his 4 overs.
In response, Solidarity Club gave a valiant effort but fell short, scoring 180/10 wickets in 19.1 overs.
Alok Kar and Sunny Choudhary led the batting charge with scores of 52 runs in 31 balls and 51 runs in 36 balls, respectively. Pranjal Dey emerged as the star bowler for Youth Star CC, taking an impressive 5 wickets while giving away 22 runs in his 4 overs.
Sagar Choudhary contributed with 2 wickets, conceding 40 runs in his 4 overs.
The result favored Youth Star CC, securing a 13-run victory, with Pranjal Dey earning the well-deserved title of Player of the Match for his impactful performance of 18 runs and 5 wickets.
In another exciting match, Tur Shaphrang CC faced Lawsohtun CC, with Tur Shaphrang CC winning the toss and choosing to bat first. In their 1st innings, Tur Shaphrang CC posted a total of 102/6 wickets in 20 overs, with Rimanlang Kharumnuid and Bankit Nongbet contributing 23 runs in 41 balls and 18 runs in 14 balls, respectively.
The bowlers for Lawsohtun CC, Greatestful Lyngkhoi and Andrew B Thabah, showcased their skills by taking 2 wickets each.
In reply, Lawsohtun CC successfully chased down the target, scoring 107/5 wickets in 16.5 overs.
Larrykupar L Nonglait led the batting with 35 runs in 48 balls, while Kyrmen Sohtun added 29 runs in 15 balls.
The bowlers for Tur Shaphrang CC, Wanaibok Basaiawmait, and Pynsuk Nongsiej, managed to take wickets, but Lawsohtun CC secured victory by 5 wickets. The standout performer, Greatest Ful Lyngkhoi, was named Player of the Match for his crucial contribution.
