SHILLONG, Jan 14: The State Congress on Sunday stated that there has been no communication from the high command on “offering” the Tura seat to INDIA bloc partner TMC. The party also said it is averse to the idea and the  matter has already been communicated to the higher ups.
“I am not aware as negotiations are done in Delhi but our (State congress) idea is we should contest both seats. However, it depends on Delhi,” said Shillong MP and Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief, Vincent H Pala.
As per TV reports, making a departure from their proposal of two seats, the TMC is now making new overtures by offering three seats to the Congress in West Bengal in return for two seats in Assam and the Tura seat in Meghalaya.
Meanwhile, on NPP statement that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will have no impact, Pala said that the yatra has just started and by the looks of the number of people participating, it is expected to have a huge impact.
