Tura, Jan 20: Mahendraganj, witnessed an exhilarating start to the MLA CUP 2024 Cricket Tournament, thanks to the generous sponsorship of MLA Sanjay A Sangma. The tournament kicked off with a nail-biting clash between Nandichar and Madhergoan, setting the stage for an intense competition.
In a strategic move, Madhergoan won the toss and opted to field first, putting Nandichar to bat. Despite facing stiff competition, Nandichar managed to post a commendable score of 119, losing four wickets in the process, all within 12 overs.
The second half of the match unfolded with Madhergoan stepping up to the plate for their run chase. With a target of 119, Madhergoan showcased their prowess, securing a thrilling victory with six wickets in hand and just two balls remaining in the game. The match kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the very end, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament’s opening ceremony.
