Shillong Lajong lose to Jamshedpur 2-0

Shillong, Jan 20: In a challenging encounter at the Kalinga Stadium, Pitch 1, Bhubaneswar, Shillong Lajong encountered another setback as they were defeated 2-0 by Jamshedpur FC in their final match of the Kalinga Super Cup held on Saturday.
The game remained evenly contested until the 45th minute when Jamshedpur took the lead courtesy of a goal from Mohammed Sanan, putting them in the lead at halftime. Despite a penalty opportunity for Jamshedpur in the 52nd minute, they failed to convert as Seminglen Doungel’s shot hit the crossbar.
However, Jamshedpur didn’t let the missed penalty dampen their spirits, and they secured their victory with a goal from Thongkhosem Haokip in the 73rd minute, sealing the deal with a 2-0 lead and claiming all three points.With this defeat in the Super Cup, Shillong Lajong is now set to shift their focus to the upcoming I-League. The I-League is scheduled to resume on February 3, where Shillong Lajong will be facing Inter Kashi at home in the SSA Stadium, Shillong. The team is determined to regroup and showcase a strong performance in the upcoming league fixtures.
As Shillong Lajong reflects on the challenges faced in the Super Cup, their attention now turns resolutely to the impending battles in the I-League. With a commitment to learning from each defeat, the team is gearing up for the match against Inter Kashi on February 3 at the SSA Stadium, Shillong.
