BSF ADG reviews security scenarios along int’l border

SHILLONG, Feb 10: Additional Director General, BSF (Eastern Command) Kolkata, Sonali Mishra reviewed the current security scenario and discussed various operational and administrative aspects of the border management during her two-day visit to the BSF Frontier Meghalaya on February 9 and 10.
She was welcomed by IG BSF Meghalaya Harbax Singh Dhillon and other senior officers followed by a “Guard of Honour” at the officers’ institute, here.
Further, IG BSF Meghalaya briefed the ADG about the general security scenario along the Indo-Bangladesh international border of the Meghalaya Frontier.
The IG also briefed about the challenges along the Indo-Bangladesh border and measures taken to counter them.
The ADG took stock of the administrative aspects, and human resources and also visited Composite Hospital Shillong and met with patients.
She addressed the officers and jawans during a Sainik Sammelan at Ftr HQ Umpling.On the second day, the ADG accompanied by IG BSF Meghalaya visited the border outposts on the India- Bangladesh border in South West and East Khasi Hills and interacted with field commanders, took stock of the prevailing security situation and reviewed operations preparedness to make the international border crime free.
Additionally, Mishra interacted with headmen and local villagers of Nolikatta village while also inaugurating the newly constructed buildings at BOPs under BSF Meghalaya Frontier.
Lastly, she applauded the efforts and dedication of the BSF personnel in safeguarding the international border of Meghalaya.
