Public nab thief in Mawkyrwat

MAWKYRWAT, Feb 13: Residents of Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills, on Monday night, apprehended a thief while he was trying to steal vehicle tyres from a house at Dong Neng under Mawkyrwat village.
Secretary of Seng Samla Shnong Mawkyrwat, Skhem Nongrum said that the incident occurred around 6 PM and it was seen by a few local boys. The thief identified as Stevenson Tongwah of Nonglang village.
The boys informed the locals, who then nabbed the thief and handed him over to the police.
Stevenson Tongwah was reportedly apprehended many times earlier by locals for theft cases and was also arrested by the police in the past.
