Govt invites tender for Wah Umkhrah project

SHILLONG, March 2: The government on Saturday finally opened a tender for the Wah Umkhrah riverfront development project.
The foundation stone for the project at Polo was laid by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma recently. It aims to redevelop the Wah Umkhrah riverfront into a central hub for recreational, cultural, and social activities for Rs 39 crore. In addition, the government has also invited the request for proposal cleaning and beautification of Wards Lake, Nirman Jheel, Laitkor (Assam Rifles), Malse Lakes, Upper Shillong (EAC), Rangjokram Lake, Resubelpara and Memo Lake Williamnagar on engineering, procurement and construction basis.
The tender has been extended till March 6.
