KHADC gets Rs 35 L revenue from markets

SHILLONG, March 13: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has collected a total amount of Rs 35 lakh as revenue from various council markets for the fiscal year (FY) 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Replying during the Question Hour, Executive Member (EM) in-charge of Market, Grace Mary Kharpuri, informed that the revenue collected in FY 2022-23 and 2023-24 was Rs 16,10,900 and Rs 18,98,900 respectively.
She informed that the revenue was collected from markets owned by the Council that include Iew Laitlyngkot, Iew Byrnihat and from Mawiong Regulated Market.
Kharpuri informed that for FY 2023-2024, the Council received Rs 6,20,000 from Iew Byrnihat, Rs 3,20,000 from Iew Laitlyngkot and Rs 5,30,000 from Mawiong Regulated Market.
