SHILLONG, March 19: The United Democratic Party (UDP) on Tuesday stated that attempts by political actors to garner cross support for other candidates during elections will only enable the party to filter and spot the reliable from the not.
“It enables us to filter and see through the character of various persons. During parliamentary elections people switch side and you are able to see their true colours. We will know who we should really on and who are just changing colours in the blink of an eye for personal gains,” UDP working president Paul Lyngdoh said.
He said this while reacting to unconfirmed reports of some UDP leaders from Nongpoh constituency holding a meeting with NPP candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh at a resort in Marmain area in Ri-Bhoi.
