SHILLONG, March 19: Erratic supply of water in areas of North Shillong has irked local VPP MLA Adelbert Nongrum, who called out the PHE department and the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) for the ‘failure’ to ensure uninterrupted supply of water.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, a disappointed Nongrum said that the people of his constituency are facing great difficulties due to the erratic water supply.
He pointed out that the people face this problem every year during this season, which is unacceptable.
The VPP MLA said that the PHED and SMB should improve the system since water supply in some areas is regular while locals in other areas have to buy water. “It is the responsibility of both PHED and SMB to ensure interrupted water supply to the people,” he added.
